Carbon Aerogel-Supported Iron for Gasification Gas Cleaning: Tars Decomposition
نویسندگان
چکیده
Tar removal from gasification gases is a determinant step to guarantee the operational feasibility of gasification-to-chemicals/energy systems. However, this very complex process requiring catalytic materials proceed under reasonably low temperatures and convert tars into fuel (i.e., CHx). The use Fe-based catalysts for application has been reported before, however, there are still unsolved questions related its stability interaction with some species gases. Therefore, we evaluated carbon-supported Fe decomposition tar using simulated gases, toluene, naphthalene, benzene as models tar. effects temperature (565 < T 665 °C) co-feeding CO on activity were inspected at laboratory bench scales. decomposing was in following order: > toluene e naphthalene. Moreover, evidence validating reversible elemental toluene⇔benzene over surface. characterization spent evidenced oxidation active phase carbon deposition formation FexOy caused marked loss activity. Conversely, carbides stable decomposition.

متن کاملCarbon Supported Cu and TiO2 Catalysts Applied for Ozone Decomposition
In this article a comparison was made between Cu and TiO2 supported catalysts on activated carbon for ozone decomposition reaction. The activated carbon support in the case of TiO2/AC sample was prepared by physicochemical pyrolysis and for Cu/AC samples the supports are chemically modified carbons. The prepared catalysts were synthesized by impregnation method. The samples were annealed in two...
متن کاملEffect of Gas Diffusion in Graphitized Carbon Rods on Their Gasification Rate with Carbon Dioxide'>'
At high temperatures, the experimental gasification rates of graphitized carbon rods are found to deviate progressively more from their intrinsic gasification rates, aa temperature is increased. This is shown to be caused by the increasing control of the reaction by the rate of transport of carbon dioxide through the internal pores of the carbon rod. The ditTusionalresistance concepts used to c...
